"The Translation Problems and Solutions in Turkey in the Process of Admission to EU"

European Union gives utmost importance to the citizen's communication with the EU institutions and their being able to access to EU legislation in their mother tongue. In this regard, European commission includes one of the most important translations centres of the world. Turkey, in the process of admission to EU, is to be in accordance with legal acquis besides the legal acquis is to be translated into Turkish. The translation of the legal acquis consisting of approximately 120.000 pages is one of the most important studies in this process.

On the other hand, Turkish will be one of the official languages of EU so it is a fact that there will be need for translators who are specialized in different fields. In this regard, the studies on not only in the translation of the legal aquis but also education of translators convey utmost importance. So it is important to analyse the problems about translations, education of translators and terminology and putting forward solutions for these problems is also crucial.

In this regard, this conference, enriched with theoretical and practical information, will be an opportunity for academicians, researchers, pedagogues, and writers to share especially their studies on translation and terminology about EU.




"I. International Translation Studies and Terminology Conference" is to be hosted by the Department of French Translation and Interpretation at Kırıkkale University on 20-21 October in Kırıkkale.

Turkish, French and English Papers are accepted.
